Transplanting an Isuzu engine into a LandRover 90

Back in 2006 I used to love getting my hands covered in oil, here are some interesting shots of the stages of removing the old asthmatic diesel engine in my old 1984 Land Rover 90.

I later installed an Isuzu Trooper 2.8 turbo diesel engine.  This required a special adapter plate to line up to the gearbox bell housing.

Whilst the change of engine gave the vehicle more torque, the top speed was still only around 70 mph.  An upgrade to the differentials would have been required to get an increased top speed.
